Despite the fact that I am way too old to believe in Santa Claus I still wish that he existed sometimes or at least that I could enjoy Christmas as I used to as a little boy. Eventhough nothing really changed in terms of the timings (my family comes to our house and we eat etc) it just doesn't feel really special anymore and I am not quite sure whether that's just normal when becoming older or if it's my fault by playing so much Starcraft. Time is literally flying by whilest playing Starcraft and the fact that I actually try to improve sometimes backfires in real life because I deny booze or other kinds of fun things in order to be capable of playing serious Starcraft later that day. Sometimes I am a bit worried that I might over do this Starcraft thing but on the other hand I just love this game and the idea of becoming a professional that I can't stop now, not unless I know that there is a wall that I can't pass no matter what I do but let's see what is going to happen in 2013.
Okay, let's get all of this apocalyptical writing out of the way and let's take a look at what I got out of Christmas, 'cause the last remaining magical thing about that day for me is getting PRESENTS (yaaay). Steelseries still did not message me about my repaired keyboard and I couldn't wait any longer so I bought myself a Filco Majestouch 2 Ninja Tenkeyless with Cherry MX Reds (click) and I enjoy the fuck out of that keyboard. Next to that I got a bunch of clothes and money but that's not as exciting as my Filco is.
In the end I just hope your Chirstmas was a bit merrier (not like mine was crap, I still enjoyed it but it was just like any other day *sad smiley*) than mine was. I think the actual Chirstmasmagic will be renewed when I can give presents to my children, so I'll wait up until then.
(wow that sounded really sad)

A quick christmas write up...
on what happened to me in most recent times.
Ever since my last real post about how much I dislike the current metagame of Zerg I ran out of ideas on what to write on so I simply didn't and now I feel like I have to inform you guys about my recent activities because I have - by no means - letting the lazyness get the better of me. I've been playing alot in order to reach a new peak in my play and with joining my3D my motivation got renewed. My teammates are nice, the leaders ambitious and the atmosphere is great. It's the perfect envirorment for improvement and I am doing that majorly at the moment. I feel like I am playing better than ever before. I have a huge viarity in my builds by practicing an unreal amount with my Z and T mates, my mechanics are getting on a good level again and in addition to that the holidays are right around the corner, giving me the opportunity to do a massive amount of laddergames.
The next big thing that happened to me besides me joining awesome my3D is my Steelseries 6GV2 with Cherry MX Blacks giving up on me. I don't know why and how it happened but some keys just stopped working. I was playing Dota, then I switched over to Starcraft and the number "2", which I used as a hotkey in Dota, suddenly gave up on me and no matter what I'd do I couldn't figure out how to fix it. I also plugged the board into my Laptop with and without PS2, still, no response. That lead me into sending it back to the Steelseries warehouse in Denmark and researching about a possible replacements. I came up with a bunch of keyboards including the Filco Majestouch2, a Leopold Tenkeyless Keyboard or the Zowie Celeritas. All of them equipped with either Cherry MX Red or Brown switches and as soon as I get confirmation about me getting a new 6GV2 or not I'll get myself a christmas keyboard.
In case of me not getting my 6GV2 returned I'll also make a post about creating Cherry MX Ghettored switches because they'll send back the keyboard as it is, if the mistakes was done by me, leaving me with linear topheads and the springs of the MX Browns which are basicaly MX Red springs but we will see what Steelseries decides to do.
Next up, a short update about my life. I am approaching my 18th birthday and I will ultimately turn 18 at the 01/06/13 and the end of school is enivitable leaving me with the big question of WHAT TO DO?
The answer for what to do has not been found up until now but I will probably write about it when I feel like I've found THE THING to do.
In the end I'd like to thank you for sticking around for over a year now and following my progress from a low platinum player to a developed Starcraft player and person aswell.
That's it for the little update. Check out my replays and I'll keep you up to date in terms of what I am doing after school. Maybe I'll continue Starcraft for a while, perhaps even fulltime if I reach a certain level up until then and wether I enjoy HoTs or not.

Yet another team?
I don't know if anyone is still left over (due to the huge amount of time since I posted) but for those who still stick around and take a look once in a while, I am going to join 3D-Gaming (which would make me MYƎDǂMyu).
It's an eSport clan founded in 2002 and it's ceo is german. The main part of the team though, is a mixture out of random europeans. It's strenght lies in their CS-Team therefore equiping them with some jammy sponsors and sick teamshirts.
I am really happy to be granted this opportunity. Check their site out aswell.

Broodlords huh..?
Yup - the flying siege unit that deals twenty burstdamage for each "Broodling" that is being thrown towards each and everything your opponents obtains plus the provoked splash damage and movement disability.
Yup - the backbone of every single zergs lategame if they are not wanting to lose games on purpose.
Yup - the only unit enabling zerg to stand toe to toe with mech and protoss deathballs.
Yup - that unit that totally destroys the game.
What what what? Broodlords destroying the game? Coming from a Zergs perspective?
Sadly, Yup (but that's not the only thing being f*ed up) ...
Ever since the Patch increasing the range of the Queens attack got released Zergs realized that they are actually equiped with a fairly (cough) strong lategame because the patch made it actually reachable for the majority of us. So the general plan is it to wait out our opponents and survive their relentless attacks because it does not really matter how you reach the deadly combination it's just important to reach it.
Even if you lost a leg and an arm (refering to bases and tech structures) while trying to escape the whiteshark from the movie "Yaws" as long as you are able to crawl yourself onto the island of endless happyness you are fine, oh yeah, really fine. This is HOW fine you are in terms of money (sortof, slivko, PiG, johnnyrecco, LoweLy).
Anyone ever heard anything about those guys before the malicious patch appeared? I guess not. These are so called "Patch Zergs". A "Patch Zerg" is someone who suddenly - out of no where - got an increase of skill since the patch came out and actually started to win alot of money. Undeserved money.
Don't get me wrong these guys are still alot better than I am in most regards yet this is pathetic and it is ruining the competition, my motivation and - most importantly - the general understanding of "Skill".
What I mean by that?
Well, there once was a time where you had to severly outplay your opponent in alot of ways to win a game. Two parties were facing each others and the one with the greater multitasking, decisionmaking, micro, mapawareness and skill would win. Players like DRG or NesTea were lightyears ahead of everyone else in this term and made a huge name for themselves. Now with the patch Zerg basically starts with 100 creeptumors by default. It's not a big deal to spread creep anymore, and there is almost no difference between a GSL creepspread and the creepspread of a european Grandmaster. This has been taking away an entire skillset that yet had to be discovered. Zerg was told to be the race with the highest skillcap with relentless injection timings, hard to spread creep and a squishy army that needed to be used in a certain way in order to succeed. If you are not capable of keeping your Muta, Ling, Bling army busy you are basically out of the game. It was more cut throat. There is almost no ultra amazing micro that is being utilized in proffessional Starcraft anymore like there was in the beginning of it. Here is an example (Super 15 micro of "old times")
You could argue that the metagame wasn't developed to the state it is in as of today, and sure, it's true. The meta game was SHIT but this switch of metagame has not been done by the players themselves, it's intended by Blizzard. They want the game to be macro dependent and sure, it's a good thing but there are literally no possibilities to punish anything anymore and if you do so it's mostly luck based.
An example for this is a banelingbust against Protoss. It works as long as your opponent either tries to do a Zealot two Stalker harras on your third or he fails with his Sentries pulling them back to kill the so called "Retardmagnet" (Overlord bating Sentries into the Protoss base) so you are basing your allin on a percentage that has a fairly low chance of winning you the game. This leaves us with no particular timings to prevent any greed in Starcraft2. Neither for Protoss nor for Terran.
What does this lead us to?
An anticlimactic game in not only ZvT and ZvP but also in TvP and PvP. In the opening minutes of the game alot of micro is being thrown out. Protoss puts up Forcefields, Blinkmicros back his Stalkers, does alot of target firing - Terran splits Marines, Stuttersteps, Drops alot, focusfire with Tanks - Zerg Micros Zerglings, Runbys, Surrounds, Flanks, dualpronged Harras - all in all the early to mid game is actionpacked and enjoyable to play and watch. As soon as you reach the lategamestage though the rate of micro requiered drops down RAPIDLY and it evolves into a boring game where both parties sit on their precious armies and harras from time to time. Protoss warping in Zealots is called "Multitasking" by casters which is a testament to the lategames boringness itself. - Wow, that dude warps in sh*t here and does nothing else in the maintime woooow -
This waiting lasts for about as long as someone decides to not spend 50 minutes in a game and attacks. He either crushes his opponent in no time by stealing the Mothership or getting a favorable engagement with Infested Terrans aswell as Neural or is getting crushed in no time by engaging badly. This is not how it's supposed to be in a professional eSport game.
Let's just take a look at Dota2.
I already wrote about how much better the UI is and how much more inviting the game is in terms of the Leveling system - that gives you goodies and skins - at the same time is not a necessity still giving you a drive to play more and more. This is not part of the arguement I just wanted to give a little sidenote. What I am trying to do show with the comparison to Dota2 is to compare the fights in Dota2 work. In Dota2 you see skirmishes that sometimes last for 5 minutes (GD B-Team vs Na'vi G1 Fight Starladder). There is no Oneshotting, Fungals or Vortexing that instantly wins an engagement. Fights are drawn out and almost all the time this attribute carries on into the lategame.
Another totally different fact about Dota2 is the fact that the earlygame has a significant impact on the Lategame. If you start off in Dota with your Carry picking up easy Kills the advantage carries on into the engagements later in the game. The early game MATTERS.
This does not apply to the lategame of Starcraft 2. It's like you are playing a DIFFERENT game as soon as you reach the lategame. You opened up with a 6 Pool and you microed like a boss? Being ahead through out entire mid game?
Well. A Vortex can change EVERYTHING.
It's not like it shouldn't be possible to turn around fights. You can turn around games in Dota2 too but you'll be needing to pull off some incredibly skilled moves and therefore outplaying the opponents team by alot not just by hitting a lucky ass Vortex or failing to Spread your Broodlords to prevent Seeker Missiles to hit you.
An example for this is "The Play" made by Natus Vincere destroying invictus Gaming in TI2 ("The Play"). You can SEE how the crowd is going INSANE because they know that 99% of the worlds team would've straight out died against a gank like this but Na'vi did not. They hit all of their abilities correct with the Rubick stealing Ravage and the perfect Blackhole by the Enigma. It's just a delight to see.
Let's just compare this to a Starcraf2 Lategame with NO EXCITEMENT whatsoever because everyone can use Fungals and Spread or use Vortex there is not even a potential depth in the Lategame.
The lack of micro being requiered in lategame almost denies any possibility to do literally "outplay" your opponents. No matter from what angle you look uppon the Lategame - it's being unfair.
Broodlords - Unfair, Vortex - Unfair, Thor Splash and Seekermissile - Unfair and all of them are not fun to use nor to watch on stream.
So what has to happen to improve the game?
Starcraft II developers will be having to aim to a steady or maybe even EXPONENTIAL GRAPH!
Once again I'll be needing the comparison to Dota. Early fights consist of throwing some stuns and maybe use the right mouse button to autoattack but the later the game goes the more Items you get and the more Abilities you and your opponents get so you need to think quicker and also react quicker. Use a "Forcestaff" (an Item that pushes a targeted hero in the direction in that it's looking) to push a targeted hero out of the dangerzone, disable the heavy hitter with a "Sheepstick", heal your team with a "Mekanism" in an AOE-radius aswell as giving out mana with "Arcane Boots". I could even further elaborate on that but it already shows the diversity for Dota and Starcraft because it's pretty much exactly the other way around.
How are we going to achieve this type of change in terms of microusage?
I am not entirely sure about how far the units are allowed to be deviated because Wings of Liberty is already pretty much figured out and that will probably be up to Heart of the Swarm to fix it. I have the opinion that there should not be alot of new 1 - A units being thrown into the pool of Starcraft Units. They should rather put in more Spellcasters. Another possibility would be to increase the Supplycount of the Broodlords at the same time making them faster(movement speed) or give them any other possibility so you can actually USE them instead of just MAKE them and AMOVE them. Same goes for the Protoss Deathball which is not USED it's just MADE and A-Clicked. These are fundamentals that are having to be adressed in HOTS and Blizzard announced that they are trying to restructure Protoss in order to use more Gateway Units and Zerg still is kinda messed up with now having two micro denial Units. Terran, well, nothing changed (yet).
So what do I end this post with?
I am just hoping that Blizzard is taking some of the recent criticism by heart in order to fix the problems with the game at the moment. The gameplay itself has not been that criticised but I wanted to elaborate on that because it is making me mad to play a boring lategame because it forces me to end the games in the midstages. Even watching Tournaments is boring as f*ck for reasons like Broodlords, Infestors playing against Mothership, Archon is not intense nor it is that skill dependend. It does not really matter if DRG or JulyZerg or even Nerchio controlls those Broodlords because there is no Nextlevel Micro or Unitcontrol that really seperates the Pros from the Bonjwas like Mutamicro in BW did.
In the end I am just a guy that loves Starcraft II alot and seeing this decay of the game just makes me sad. I just want a nice actionpacked, skillbased game to watch, play, enjoy and live the game the way I did the time Muta Ling Bling vs Terran and Hydra Roach were viable.
Seeing these facts together with a Battle.net that actually acts like a social network (close to what steam does) would make me a really happy nerd.

2012 Season 3 wrap up?
Naaaaaaaaaah...
As you may or may not know the 2012 Season 4 is already a week old and I normaly do the wrap ups days before the new Season. I wanted to do one but I figured that the results of the Season are not that accurate. Sure I win TvZ lose ZvP and have 50/50 ZvZ but I had huge drops and also increases of skill during this Season (S32012) due to the unsteady practice.
If you followed my blog you should've reaslized that I was knocked out for the majority of the time. The Season started with the start of the summer holidays in germany so I was playing alot in the first two weeks making ~150 games in this limited amount of time with my friend because I knew about the upcoming time.
The struggle started with being in Spain (struggle manely focused on SCII practice ^_^) because I was disabled for one and a half week already. If you ever tried to get good at Starcraft you'll know how much a week of not practicing hurts you.
I arrived back home being sick with fever and a burning throat denying my practice for an additional week. If we add that together we are already at a two and a half week break which is huge already but it's not a biggy because it's still almost two weeks to play right? NO
I had tooth surgery where they had to remove some wires to support my gum and prevent my tooth from falling out of my mouth by the age of 40 something.
We are at 3 weeks of forced 'Starcraft Vacation'.
So we are in the first week of school and I was all about organizing the new semester. I played but it's not enough to make up for the 3 weeks. Next week I cought the chickenpox disabeling me even longer.
We are looking break of 5 weeks. The following week I had to recover schoolwise and catch up with the missed subjects. 6th week.
7th week I spend in Rome where I destroyed my Laptop too.
So we are looking at a 7 week disability to get in proper practice in.
Somehow I still managed to improve alot and win 1.6k people and end up with 1.1k with a 500 bonuspool. Still I think it was all a bit goofy and unorganized but hey - It's summer what are you supposed to do ;)?
I am trying hard to reach my old form and play alot better this upcoming Season and post some results.
Though it is a double edged sword I am really looking forward to the winter so I can play alot more consistant and hit a Grandmaster level niveau because that's my next target to achieve. Beating a Grandmaster.

I am trying hard to reach my old form and play alot better this upcoming Season and post some results.
Though it is a double edged sword I am really looking forward to the winter so I can play alot more consistant and hit a Grandmaster level niveau because that's my next target to achieve. Beating a Grandmaster.

Why Starcraft II is a bad game
and Dota 2 is it doing all right.I just recently installed DOTA2 due to it's free download and free key for CS:GO purchaser. I wasn't really into "MOBA's" (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) ever before. I played Heroes of Newerth from times to times but it was just way too casual and easy and did not really make alot of fun.
I never really rooted against MOBA's in general but I wasn't a huge fan either (except for hating LoL [League of Legends] because it's a bad game) when I started downloading it. It looked alot more fun than LoL and HoN though, that's why I gave it a shot (plus it was a free download).
After a slow and painful download - about 8 hours
(my internet connection sucks) - I finally started the game and I immediately realized that this game is awesome and is showing what it is ment to be - an eSport title.
Being produced by Valve it already has the perk of Steam which alows clan support and a constant
ability to change names.
This fact alone already provides ten times the support Blizzard is giving to Starcraft II players but let's continue with the journey through the beautiful world of actually caring.
When I first started the game one thing instantly cought my attention. It said "Watch" in the top left corner. I clicked on it and it revealed an entire schedule of the so called "International 2012" (the 1.000.000$ tournament). They had all the information required for the full viewing experience In Their Browser. It didn't stop there though, the awesomeness continues as you can join Any game from the "International" as a spectator being eligible to switch into each players vision and at the same time not interfering with the game at all. How often have you seen Starcraft pros write "OUT" when an observer starts lagging? Probably every game there is someone in the game with a really bad connection. In DOTA you can observe the same way that Starcraft II allows you to do it but Not interfere with anything.
If you still manage to read while scrolling with one hand (if you know what I mean - This Is Nerd Porn) let me tell you that you can listen to the commentators voice while watching any perspective. The commentator is even able to Draw on the map while commentating making the viewing experience unbelievably good and on top of that you are able to buy a 'Banner' which is showing who you are rooting for and while watching the games of your favorite team you are eligable to win Items just by watching (items act like somekind of modification for your character - individualizing your DOTA experience).
This implemented goody is brining eSport to a new peak. The only negative thing is that DOTA2 is not having the "numbers" compared to other games on streams just because they stream their games In Their Client. I still think it's a great Idea and it will bring alot of new faces to the DOTA community and therefore into eSports and maybe Starcraft II.
That pretty much covered the amazing Job they are doing with the in browser eSport streaming. We are not finished yet though I want to continue telling you how amazing DOTA is and how sad it is that Blizzard doesn't give a fuck.
What general thing is Blizzard lacking in terms of comunity interaction?
Right - interacting with the community and listen to their needs.
Do you know what Valve does?
Valve basically allows everyone to edit the game they want to edit it, let's say you want your own "Announcer" (the sound screaming "FIRST BLOOD") with an individual voice you can just create that announcer, send it to Valve and if they give their approval your announcer will get sold in their store even leaving you with a percentage of it's revenue. The same goes for hero equipment (Weapons, Capes, Hoods, Extras...) that can be sold and different skins.
Those things seem like it's totally normal for Valve to interact with their players and they seemingly realize the importance of keeping their players satisfied.
Let's go back to Blizzard and take a look what they are doing.
Hey. They at least got WCS (no offense it's great but just not compareable) and the new pimped out UI but what about the namechange people are bitching about since release and which was announced as "coming soon" for 2 years. Well guess who is not caring?

Replays Replays Replays
Today I stumbled across a new replaysite that may not be used as much as drop.sc did but it basically has all the same features and goodies. - sc2replays.eu -
The fact that I was not able to share my newest replays in "real time" (by using drop.sc) was really demotivating 'cause I really do enjoy uploading games I thought of as being sick or even educational. The fact that drop.sc demanded (or is still demanding) 2.500$ in order to "fix their servers" seemed a little bit fishy. Several times people posted on /r/starcraft that drop.sc needed to be helped out. People like ROOTDestiny ensured their help as soon as drop.sc would be revealing an what would be happening with the money as soon as it reaches drop.sc and in terms of them assuring us that a bankrupt would not be happening again (click for particular redditthreat). (so they are not trying to get donations again in half a year or even a shorter frequency)
Somehow the concern of drop.sc just trying to get alot of money was still inside of alot of peoples head so they did not bother to spend money on drop.sc leaving them in a rough spot (not being able to extend the capacity of their servers and therefore not being able to provide drop.sc any longer)
Long story short - drop.sc is still down demanding donations in order to run properly.
It was really hard to find something quite comparable to drop.sc but I finally managed to find one through (also) /r/starcraft. It does not have the function of "drag and drop(.sc)" but it's still pretty great website.
It's a "subpage" of the aAa (against All authorities) clanwebsite therefore being more reliable in terms of funding and organisation as supposed to the drop.sc organisation.
Besides that the new site is also more advanced than the drop.sc at draining informations from replays. If you upload a replay you are provided with two graphs indicating your APM throughout the game and the Armyvalue graph furthermore the sides is displaying the buildorders of both players, the average APM and the percentage of population built (eg.: 70% Zerglings | 10% Infesotrs | 5% Banelings). An uploaded replay also allows you to link a video (a casted version of your game) to that replay. External links to the battle.net profile are directly accesable in the replay. The only deficit in comparison to drop.sc is the not existing account data. (eg.: http://drop.sc/players/EU/1427209/Myu)
You can only search for the name and if you are having a short name like Myu (search for "Myu") it's just displaying names with the letters MYU in it (eg.: NOMYuvalShot is one of the ) therefore not collecting replaydata like drop.sc did but it's not that big of a flaw.
In the end I decided to upload all of my replays to both sides but manely to www.sc2replays.eu and therefore not leaving drop.sc completely (hoping that) maybe they are going to be able to fix their website and their debts. I am really sad that drop.sc had to (basically) end like this. No funding means no time being put in to the project. The basic upload function still works but the rest is buggy because the staff isn't able to fix those problems anymore.

It's been a long time
(Lloret de Mar - Spain) |
It's not like I am not enjoying the writing anymore I just haven't had the time, skill or ingame knowledge to do things ever since I came back from Spain.
I already posted once after my arrival but it wasn't that insightfull of a post so I just recently cleaned alot of old stuff from this blog and I wanted to redo the post.
First of all the vacation in Spain was pretty great. Being away from home with friends only, partying is really fun (we went to hungary the previous year - also really great) and I can only advice you to do similar things
if you are having the money and the friends needed.
if you are having the money and the friends needed.
The only negative thing I took from the trip to Spain was a really bad flue, combined with the backlash from a seven day marathon in terms of drinking baverage and smoking perfectly legal things (...) that knocked me out for about one week letting me and up with only one and a half weeks left of vacation and a three and a half week break of not playing Starcraft II.
(Matchhistory after I started playing [+40 for 1.3k master]) |
After I started to enjoy my play more and more I had surgery in my mouth. They basically cut out some wires that destroyed my gum or something. (Sorry about my lack of knowledge)
What I know for certain is that it isn't cool to play SCII with a swollen mouth and while I am using painkillers. Further on the sudden start of school (after 6 weeks of lazyness) and the need to wake up at 6 am (6 f*cking am - freaking germany) made me feel tierd through out my freetime. (It's not that great to play while being almost asleep for half the game.)
Just because I was not capable of playing alot I manly focused on the non mechanical part of the game. While I was watching replays I focused my attention on the different mindsets (mentalities) of each and every matchup. I also "updated" alot of openers, in order to make them viable in the current state of the game. Alot changed in ZvZ and especially in the ZvT matchup.
Not playing made me also realize that I promised youtube.com tutorials for Zerg. I came up with alot of videoconcepts and an entire concept for the "series" in which I am going to explain the Zergrace from scratch including the capabilities you are going to need in order to get decent at Zerg. I am going to go through all the matchups and share the new information I gathered while watching replays of Western Wolves SortOf, Gamersleagues Snute, TeamLiquids Ret, Fnatics very own Moon and alot more.
I already started recording a little bit of footage but I am not quite satisfied. I don't want to put up senseless stuff.
The main problem I engaged is my bad internet connection which is basically forcing me to spend a whole day on uploading for a 10 minute video. That's why I want to finish at least 5 episodes before uploading them (it would be really annoying to turn up to my friends house every day for a new episode) .
I want to bring them to my friends house and upload them with a 16k internet. That would make things alot easier and also quicker.
They are probably going to take a while before being ready to upload but they are currently in the making!
In the end I want to focus YOUR attention on a new playlist I found. It's the one WWSortOf is laddering with and it's a house - trance type music. It's a whole bunch of good tracks and if you are having spotify this link will guide you to the playlist: (Click!)
Thanks for your reading <3 - Myu

Introducing the new era...
of Zerg versus Zerg
I am currently trying out the new styles of ZvZ and I want you to be encouraged to try it out yourself. While making my way up to the one thousand points I faced alot of Zergs totally destroying me with this "new" style which was performed on EG.IdrAs and MǂStephanos Stream and tournament performances. It's all about heavily upgraded Lings, Infestors and - later on - Ultralisks.
So let's break the basic gameplan down.
Here is my particular starting BO I am currently perfecting in the Ladder.
I am opening up 14 Gas 14 Pool into an 21 expansion (really the 20th drone to the nat = perfect expansion timing) I am pulling out 3/3 Drones out of the gas when I hit 100 and I imidiately follow it up with Speed 4 Lings and 1 Queen (totally standart). After the first Queen is finished you pull back 2/3 Drones back in gas and start the 2nd Queen asap (21 supply). The Queen build in the Main is going to go down to the natural to kill potential Overlords that were forgotten by your enemy. You build Drones up to 25 Supply (you build an Overlord at 24) and from there on out you only build Lings (34 Overlord). You have to hide the 4 Lings next to the enemy Base and build 4 Banelings and keep 2 Banelings home to moprh defensive Banelings. Drone behind it.
This is a Replay of me just winning with my opening: CLICK ME
After you survived the earlygame (or gained a significant lead) you are free to transition into the style of choice!
The transition we are going to follow it up with...
As soon as we are ready to transition (when the aggression of our oponent is starting to get senseless and you are save - defensive Banelings + Spine - and we are having the proper amount of drones - enough to still have 16 on each mineralline) you build 2 Evolutionchambers and add 4 Gas and plant a 3rd Hatch and a Macrohatch and Spines (depending on the way your opponent transitions).
If he tries to secure his 3rd with Ling and Banes you are pretty save to win the fight for the 3rd 'cause you are having more Lings and probably better upgrades.
If he goes 2 Base Roaches you have to be aware of a Nydus (see Picture) and build a sh*tload of Spinecrawlers in order to survive the hardcounter to this build. (Roach +1 Banelingbust)
Great - I survived the early - What's next?
Okay so here is what you have to do:Here is an easly prioritylist to follow throughout the game (after planting the double evochamber)
+1 Melee +1 Carapace >>> Base 3 and Macrohatch >>> Lair >>> Infestationpit >>> 7 - 8 Infestors (As soon as the Infestors spawn you are save. There is nothing that can kill you at this early stage of the game that can't be defended with this amount of Infestors and Spines) >>> +2 Melee +2 Carapace >>> Banelingspeed (Why is this so important? Simply because you need Banelings to kill Hydras which is the Hardcounter to your T3 "Endgame" Tech) >>> Hive >>> Ultralisk Caverns >>> +3 Melee +3Carapace >>> Ultraliskcarapace >>> Adrenalinglance
That's it, you won!
So I just camp the entire game?
What's important to note is that you don't have to saturate your 3rd overeager because you kill his 3rd which puts him behind anyways. If you overdrone your 3rd he can simply kill it and put you on equal footing which is pretty bad with no "highertech" Units (Lings with +2+2 are not even close to Roaches +2+2) You have to outmass him! As soon as the 3 - 5 Ultralisk spawn you can take on an ulimited amount of Roach Infestor. The only counter to your composition are alot of high DPS Hydralisk. You always have to keep a small amount of Banelings with your attack to kill those keyunits.
Sounds pretty easy isn't it?
Not at all. It's way harder to "perfect" as supposed to the normal Roach style. You have to micro your heart out in order to make your Lings costefficient. What that means is you have to split your Lings like a champ WHILE injecting like one. It's really hard to keep up with those injects and even I (as 1000 pts dude) am having trouble to keep the energy below 100 which is a shame. It is really hard to play so don't cry about people doing it. I actually lost to a Zerg that just pumped 2Base Roaches eventhough me killing his 3rd several times. I could not get out enough Lings and enough injects to finally crush his push so it kept on growing.Final words:
I am just starting to transition over to this style and this "Guide" is still pretty basic and nothing special so I am not entirely right in my post yet but I am trying to play it moreoften (I actually neglected to use Roaches for the past days just to get a feeling for this new Build). I already uploaded some of my "new" ZvZs to Drop.sc and I am posting them in the end of this post just to give you guys a quick first impression to what this build is.I hope you enjoyed this Guide and I hope you still enjoy my writings.

Season 8 - Wuhu
As usual I am presenting you the stats of the prior Ladderseasion and my increase and or decrease in terms of win/loss and skill in the 3 different matchups. (plus I want to give you information for the next post which is going to be another tactical analysis) but first things first, the Ladderstandings at the end of Season 7.
So I actually managed (against all the odds) to get 1,000 points in the past Season and I am proud of it. To be completely honest I didnt expect me to get this far in my second Mastersseason but yeah it's awesome.
My ZvZ is by far the worst matchup in this statistic due to my lagg of experience in terms of metagame etc. Recently I started to look at it in a little different way and won to 1.2k Zergs.
My ZvP is basically about either losing to stupid allins or bashing them in macrogames.
My ZvT is pretty straight forward... I kill Mech and Tank Marine lose to pure Bio play and that's being displayed in my Win Loss.. 76% win is decent I guess and it is a display of the things I said in my last Seasons analysis (my ZvT is actually by far my best MU).
I am also seeing a difference in APM. I increased my APM in every matchup for at least 20.
For the people being interested in the differences (Season 6 & 7) I am going to post the stats from the prior season here:
Daybreak as being the most balanced map in the pool is by far my best map, Ohana and Entombed as being the most imbalanced maps are my worst! = D but let's get over with the hate. I won't compare the maps with the one from the prior season cuz the maps were pretty shit.
I am now going to reset my replay folder and so on... if any of you is interested about my evolvement from 1/2 a year ago I posted the earliest replay (in terms of being played) on drop.sc.

I just reached my goal but since I am on somekind of a winningstreak I'll just expand my aim towards the 1.000 points benchmark. I hope that I'll make it.

Working for my goal
...of reaching the magic 900 pts Mark
I am laddering alot right now and I may be able to reach (at least) 850 points this season (when I am able to keep my practice schedule).
I am currently beating alot of 800 - 900 points dudes but to reach my secret aim I have to also constantly beat people with a total of 1000 points.
So I am optimistic and I will continue laddering and continues posting (hopefully - though I did not have a recent thing bothering me so I could write about it =D).
(updated Laddersats) |
In the end of this post I wanted to show you my current ladderstandings (caused by my lack of playing when the season opened my amount of games is quiet low) and a Song I totally enjoy listening at the moment which is
"Euphoria" by Loreeen cause eversince I listened to this awesome piece of music my Ladderstats just went "up up up uhup"

The train of thought...
of Dronescouting ZvP
Hi - I just had this ridiculously satisfying game in which the Protoss simply straight out died to my Dronescout. I'll explain you why:Hatchblock vs Nexusfirst |
In general a Dronescout in ZvP is considered to be retarded because you sacrifice economy to see things you would have scouted with Lings and Overlords anyways. It's a reasonable point of view though I am not a fan of sitting back. I am rather playing the offensive part.
Basically what you do is send your Drone out at 13supply (normal 14 pool -> hatch asap) and you scout.
So what adventages am I gaining from this?
There are alot of advantages that - in my opinion - are way bigger than one drone mining 100 minerals in early.
First advantage is the most obvious one. You get an early scout that can't be denied by the Protoss so you can instantly know whether he FFE'd or not. In that case (of him not going FFE and something funky instead) you can instanly adapt and you are not cought off guard by funky randomness.
A good example for that would've been qxc.SaSe vs (someone) at Dreamhack Winter in which he went 1 gate 1 gas 1 forge +1 zealots WITHOUT a wall! An early scout would've helped out (someone) alot in order to figure out what's coming!
Hatch cancel into win |
When doing this your opponent can do two things. Either he goes for a Nexus first or for a forge first into Nexus. You counter both of them differently. A Nexus first is basically a free win (as you can see in picture).
You immidiately block his wall (which is not even in construcion yet) with the Hatchery. The Protoss will be forced to either build alot of cannons or pulling probes.
With your 14 pool you are able to reinforce the f***ed up wall with Zerglings. You can slip in 6 Lings and a Drone to be a major pain in the ass without the protoss being able to stop it. From there on out you basically try to kill as many Probes (and in generally all the free sh*t) you can get 'cause as soon as the Stalker spawned you are not able to harras any further.
The Protoss is forced into a really bad economy and tech. He will probably try to come back with DT's or in general a stupid 2 base allin.
Important: Scout the wall after running in with an additional Ling (or OL) in order to see whether you are able to follow it up with Roach pressure or even a Baneling bust.
blocked nat forces 2 more cannons |
Here are two replays in which I successfully pull of a block.

A little bit of a different post
for you guys today.
I just want to give you all the advice to check out the stream of is.jEcho (jEchoTV). It's simuliar to GL.Snute Stream where I adviced you to check him out. It must be common for "newer" or "unkown" Streamers to care alot more about their viewers. He even has an hour of free replay analyzing with skype calls in the mean while = D - I really love him x3 I hope you enjoy him too!

Crawling back
into my old shape... kinda
My way to getting back my skill is actually harder than I expected. I am currently trying to fix my ZvP with CarLM who is a british GM MMR Protoss.Well what am I supposed to say.. at least he is nice to me -_-
It's not just my gameplay in general that is shit at the moment, especially Protoss is f*cking me up quite badly.
I don't understand the dynamics of ZvP at all it seems.. It came to a point where a Protoss killed me with a 200/200 2-based max army after I killed his Main, Natural and Third. So I asked CarLM for in depth practice session. Well - as you can see in the picture - I did not do so well I guess..
Anyways! I am taking a huge amount of my day to play Starcraft II at the moment and I am trying to sort out my ZvP maybe I can win future games in the Ladder and in tournaments again and get back into my old rythm~
By the way I never was so furstrated in Starcraft 2 ever. My mechanics hold me back so badly. Playing against CarLM made me realize that I am not even close to being good at Starcraft at all. I always thought that my mechanics would at least be decent but they aren't at all. I quickly get frustrated because I know what to do but my hands are not capable of doing the proper things. It feels like I am hold back by boundaries.
I hope I can get back soon and I'll try to post more often.

I am truely sorry
for not posting the last couple of days
I am going to be honest to you guys and say that I wasn't into starcraft lately I played alot of different games such as Assassins Creed Revelations (which I wanted to play since release but forgot about 'cause of Starcraft 2) and World of Warcraft. I stumbled over the Mist of Pandaria Streams on Twitch and my old passion was renewed.I instantly patched my old WoW files and started the game and I have to say it's really nice to play WoW again but I can't play it without getting too addicted. I see all these random scrubs that think they're all mighty and such but in reality it's just the really easy content that made them capable of clearing the content. Long story short my account expired and I am focusing on Starcraft II again.
I hope you are not too dissappointed to not see a new post in such a long while but I hope it's still okay for you!
Thanks if you are still reading if you do.
(By the way if I - somehow o_O - will actually start playing WoW again you can add me as currently on Azshara EU (maybe I am going to trans if I am actually going to be a little more active in Cataclysm)
Nawti (Mage 85 PvP)
Coerca (Rogue 85 PvP)
Deminoz (Druid 82)
Xèon (Warrior 85 PvP)
notice I haven't been playing since Cata came out except first 2 weeks so...)
Another important thing I want to draw your attention to is...
Operation Sharecraft. As with World of Warcraft I stumbled over this stream of @Athenelol . I watched him first with the age of 14 and I did not understand his ironic and sarcastic way of entertaining so I hated him. Now - with a little bit more *euh* .. "wisdom??" ... - I am capable of understanding. Anyways Athene is gathering 1.000.000 Dollars for the Kids from the Horn of Africa. The area is suffering the worst hungercrisis in history and he decided - without any revenue for himself - to support those kids. He streams frequently (19-23 o'clock (at least)) and host events for World of Warcraft. I just want to try to give him at least a little shout out.opsharecraft.com/hungerstrike.html for extended informations.

The ladderseason has come to an end
....and I am going to review it from my pov!
I started of the season by getting into Mastersleague and I was quite happy about that but ever since I was scared by the magical Win/Loss display which affected my play alot in the beginning. I didn't want to reveal my noobyness and I kept that mindset up untill now. I hit the ladder way too few times which is really sad 'cause I wasted alot of time. I don't really care anymore about my Win/Loss. All that actually matters is how good I am and that's the first thing I learnt in Season 6 (???).I also learnt what to focus on whilest playing. I did really lose because of small tiny mistakes which sucks really bad and I learnt that playing ladder is the best training and it is a "must do" in order to improve.

My Matchups

That's just strange. Somehow I managed to lose alot against Terran eventhough it was used to be my best matchup with 70% win. I don't really think that I got worse in my ZvT it's just that Terrans are way more cheesy in the Masterleague. There are alot of different allins and playstyles which totally confuse me and, not to forget about that, my lategame is ultimately retarded. I usually try to avoid the T3 Broodlord tech 'cause I throw away alot of games at that stage.
I personally dislike the creation "GGLords" for me it should be "PLEASEDROPMEDEATHLords".
It's definitively a huge thing I have to improve on in order to become a solid player.
Another really important thing is to keep my cool and stop throwing away games such as an outmassing protoss on two base. (-_-)

My Ladderpoints
The seasons is not entirely over yet but I still think that I did end the season with reasonable amount of points. I am hopefully capable of hitting the 800 pts. Mark by the end of this Season since I still have approx. 10 days left and vacation!I still have alot of work to do and I am aiming for atleast playing high Master people in the next season and I am going to put alot of effort into it in order to fufill my goal!
Thanks for your time! Myu

New social Networks
grrrrrrrrrr!

I was looking for a proper radiostation or programm to listen to some awesome music (since downloading every song is pretty darn exhausting). Though BBCRadio1 is a great station it's not what I wanted; I wanted to have a programm that's just like grooveshark.
My friend DT | Roaky told me to check out Spotify! It's almost as awesome as grooveshark still there is not as much music available to listen but it's okay since you are capable of adding music from your PC and download them on to another PC if you want to listen that playlist.
Anyways I wanted to share my new social media with you guys. I made a LastFM.com account for you to check out my current music and maybe (in the future sometimes somehow maybe?!) when I'll be capable of streaming you can check out the music in real time!
My Last FM Account (click)
My Spotify Playlist (click) - from Netsky, Rusko, Chase and Status over Skrillex and Pendulum to insiders such as Adam F and Alvin Risk =P
Best of Liquid DnB, DnB, DrumStep, Dubstep and chilled club music! Check it out!

Hi I am still alive I was just
...pretending to ski in Italy!
I hope you guys did not lose interest in me 'cause neither did I. Eventhough I have to recover from this exhausting ski trip and I have to redo all the stuff my classmates did in school while I was skiing a new opportunity opened up!As I stepped outside of the bus - that brought us home from italy - and my computer got turned on I realised that all my old clanmates had a different tag infront of their names. My first thought was "well.. my old clan had disband.. that kinda sucks.."
I tried to get someone to talk to since I wanted to find out what the meaning of "DT" was. Finally I recieved an answer from our (ex) intern caster Dystopia. He wrote (translated from german into engl.) "Well DT means TeamDieTrying all of our players joined over to the new clan!".
- Well what are the chances of me gettig into that team since I am low master and I am not in good shape since I was on vacation?
At that time I was getting kinda disappointed and I desperately tried to find my old leader to talk to.
After a short nap (since I was kinda tierd after that long trip from italy to germany) I cought my old leader and he told me the whole story!
Team Proxy emerged with Team DieTrying in terms of we (Proxy) have the players and them (DT) having the organisation behind it.
What does that mean? I - as a Player in their MAIN SQUAD (here is the news) am just playing while my new 'leaders' and 'orgas' are providing us with ClanWars, a shop w/ clanshirts, a beautiful homepage, a teamspeak and an IRC-Server and much more!
For me that means NEW MOTIVATION AWWWWW YEAAAAHHHHWWWWW....
Yeah I arrived savely at the end of the piste! |
And before I forget I want to provide you with a beatiful picture of our trip!
I hope you still enjoy my writings and I hope you stay tuned for more since I will be posting more.
I want to thank you for this awesome opportunity TeamDieTrying.de and I hope I have a deserved spot!
That's it yours DieTrying.Myu!

The setting of a new goal!
Since I've reached the obvious maingoal of my blog already (hitting the masters league) I am kinda.. aimless right now. I don't have any goal to play for and because I don't have an aim my amount of games is actually beeing none right now. I had no motivation to get out of my slump. That's why I am going to set myself a new goal and try to suprise myself - in terms of how good I am - and to get back into the game! (Hopefully)
So here we go:
I just hit Masters a couple of weeks ago so I don't aim for something ridiculous regarding points but I want to be able to say "I am a 700 - 800 points Zerg on the European Ladder" by the end of this March. I think it's a reasonable goal to hit and it is going to get me new motivation because right now I feel like I don't belong into Masters since my win / loss and my games still look as shitty as they looked one month ago.
---------------------------
New aim of my SC II Journey!
goal: hitting at least 700 points (since ladder isn't as developed as it's used to be - new ladderseason and such - playing against 700 - 800 points players or have even points - around 500 by the time would be right - is also enough to reach the goal on the european masterladder with my Zerg
borders in terms of time: ~18th of march (since I am going to go skiing - at least I try to - at the 19th of march for one week and after I come back my skill will be gone)
-> 16 days left including 1 and 1/2 weekend
-> I will play an approx. amount of 5 hours a day (at school days)
-> 3 days for studying // 7 days left a 5 hours
-> 35 hours in total in the week ~ approx. 70 games
PLUS
-> two weekends ~ 8 hours of playing
= around 160 games -> around 80 wins should be able to get with a 50/50 win loss

Community of Starcraft....
Hello my fellow readers!
In this post I'll encourage you (and me!) to ladder more and skip the common ladder anxiety.
First of all let's face the reasonings of the fear to press the button that says "Find Match".
It's really easy! The most obvious reason is the fear to expose your skill to the whole world and make you vulnerable to flames and people that accuse you for beeing a bad player. That's the more easy fear to overcome since you can simply ignore people that are flaming you and keep in mind: "One does not simply get Pro at Starcraft II!" (just to keep the styles of meme). People that are better than you are either Smurfs or people who spend at least as much time as you spend into the game. Let's face it: If you want to become anywhere near good (I wouldn't consider me to be good by any means) you have to spend alot of time into Starcraft II. The game is based on making decisions and showing tactical refinement but beeing able to make the perfect decisions and in the same time not having the capability of following it up with the proper mechanics won't win you the game! (even if you have an IQ of over 9000 if you can't keep up with injects - or other mechanical tools - you wont be able to win).
Let's do an example: Your immense IQ allows you to have the perfect thought out composition (let's just say mass mutalisk 'cause it requires a huge amount of cleverness to figure out mutalisk are good!) but you are only able to build 4 of them 'cause your injects were slipping he'll still lose!
You might think to yourself: "Well sir, that actually makes sense..." but at the same time the next big reason appears! "...but what do I do if I lose?"
Yep, that's my Matchhistory from 2 Days ago and yeah it hurts and noone can help me (you) with the problem of losing games. It's the most horrible feeling in Starcraft II especially if you are in Mastersleague and you failure is shown to the whole wide world (exposed win loss).
Some of my friends tend to say "Wow that race is so OP and it just makes no sense to play this game anymore!" (well that actually perfectly reflects my feelings after losing to another stupid Protoss allin) but in order of beeig able to become better at the game you have to lose. By losing I don't mean if you quit all games you'll instantly climb up the ladder, no you have to lose and you have to find a reasoning for your loss and totally F*CK THAT MOTHERF*CKING PROTOSS UP next time you see him doing that dumb allin again (pretty much every Protoss on the ladder). A loss is more telling than a win. If you loss (for example I just lost to a horrible allin) you can figure out why you lost. For example you overdroned (I didn't) or you did not build overlords - you were supplystucked - (Yep I was still Protoss is op) or you simply engaged in a bad angle (I did too but that's just because forcefields are too damn strong) or you simply didn't see it coming (how am I not supposed to see an allin coming every scrub Protoss on the god damn ladder allins the f*ck out of zerg since they think their race is weaker than the other two... WHICH IS BULLSH*T).
You always have to find those mistakes and admit them... atleast to yourself.
Another really important saying to gather from this post "I don't always admit mistakes... but when I do I only admit them to myself and say Protoss is op to everyone around me"(wow I just made it up myself! and it's still like a memetext).
There is no easier way to improve than for looking for mistakes. (Oftentimes it's really easy to send the replay to a friend and he tells you the mistakes more objectively.)
And hey... lucky us we have blizzard providing the perfect laddersystem so we are able to get a 50% winrate ALWAYS! So after a huge streak of losing you'll probably be able to win a bunch of games in a row 'cause that's just how the laddersystem works.
Dealing with rage!
Well what am I supposed to say. If you have problems in terms of rage I am probably not the right person to question here... And I am going to apologize to everyone I lost to (99% Protoss) and wrote things such as "I hope you die a painfull bloody death so I can eat you worthless protoss body..."[exaggeration] or something along those lines to. Still if you played a stupid allin you probably deserved it!
Back to the topic.. dealing with rage is really hard. It's not only the provoking enemy that tries to lure you out of your chilled pose it's pretty much always a scumbag Protoss how makes me rage and oftentimes it's not even their fault (read prior paragraph) it's just that I hate myself so much at that moment that I just have to... pretty much insult you, your mom etc. and destroy something in my room.. for example I threw a bottle against the wall.. the outcome of it was a really bad hole right beneth my bad.. I am not proud of my rage and it is probably the biggest flaw I have in terms of Starcraft II atm...
As far as that goes thank you for reading once again I hope you enjoyed this rather long post...!
